The rhetoric of hair

I am not my hair, but at the same time, I am. No amount of shaving can deny the fact that I was born hairy, regardless of my gender identity. No matter how much I cover it up, it does not take away the fact that I feel it is a problem. All of these ideas boil down to one collective thing: hair is political because of conformity being seen as a means to erase or cover up identity.


Don’t force children to get married

According to Plan UK, 1 in 3 girls in the developing world is married by her 18th birthday. I can no longer be an apologist for my community when it comes to arranged marriage.
